Approximately 80% of internet users own smart phones in Hungary and another 10% are planning to buy smart phones in the coming years, according to a survey by Huawei telecommunications services company.

Data from the survey suggest that battery performance is the main priority for consumers who are considering buying a new smart phone, followed by price and operating system. According to the surveyed respondents, the popular screen sizes are 4’’ and 5.1’’.

The report noted that 68% of Hungarian smart phone owners access the internet on their phones on a daily basis and 80% noted email as their favorite smart phone application.

The online survey took place in April 2015 and comprised  respondents in the 18-50 age group.
