Survey: Majority of Hungarians plan to go on vacation
CIB Bank, the Hungarian subsidiary of Italian Sao Paolo, said in its representative survey published yesterday that only 11% of Hungarians are not planning to go on vacation this summer, while more than a half of Hungarians are willing to go on a vacation that lasts at least five days.
Approximately the 35% of the queried said to be planning to go on one big vacation, and 17% is planning two or more bigger trips. A quarter of survey participants said they would only take time off from work for short amounts of time, but would do this three of four times during the summer.
CIB Bank’s findings suggest that for shorter trips most Hungarians will stay in the country, with 68% planning to visit Lake Balaton, the most favored destination. Half of those who go on longer vacations want to travel abroad. Croatia is the most popular target, followed by Greece, Austria and Italy.
