Strike committee formed at Autoliv automotive supplier

Initiatives

A strike committee was formed yesterday at the Sopronkövesd-based Autoliv Industry and Trade Ltd., after failed negotiations regarding wage increases between the workersʼ advocacy group and the automotive supplier company, Hungarian news agency MTI reported today.

The cause of the strike is being attributed to labor shortages, low wages, and an unrealistic increase in production, according to reports.

This is the most recent report of a strike to taking place in Hungary, following workers at Audi and Tesco reportedly preparing for their own strikes following failed negotiations on wage raises.

Autoliv Industry and Trade Ltd. is one of the largest automotive supplier companies in Hungary and has a staff of 2,400.
