Serbia's annual inflation is estimated to have slowed down to 5.5% in February, from January's 6.4%, central bank Governor Jorgovanka Tabaković said on Wednesday, state news agency Tanjug reported.

"Our estimate is that in February inflation has additionally decelerated to some 5.5% on annual basis. We will continue to carefully analyze domestic and international factors, ready to additionally act if needed," Tabaković said in a statement.

In February, Tabakovic said annual inflation is expected to return to the central bank's targeted range of 1.5% to 4.5% by the middle of 2024, hover around that level over the medium term.

The statistical office is expected to release consumer price index (CPI) data for February on March 12. Serbia's end-2023 inflation slowed down to 7.6% year-on-year from 15.1% in December 2022.
