Avg Hourly Pay Rate for Blue-collar Workers Climbs 16% in Q1

The average gross hourly pay rate for blue-collar workers in Hungary climbed 15.9% to HUF 2,061 in the first quarter from the same period a year earlier, state news wire MTI reports, citing an analysis by staffing company Trenkwalder.

The hourly pay rate ranged between HUF 1,800 and HUF 2,000 in most regions, but was around HUF 2,750 in Central Hungary and the capital.

The analysis was based on the wage data of close to 7,000 workers.

The gross hourly statutory minimum wage in Hungary stands at HUF 1,874 for skilled laborers and HUF 1,534 for unskilled workers.
