The economic well-being of the population and companies got a little worse from February to March, according to the latest survey by Századvég Konjunktúratokutató Zrt., writes business daily Világgazdaság.

Századvég highlighted that the population index, interpreted on a scale between minus 100 and plus 100, weakened to minus 14.8, and the value of the company indicator weakened to minus 12.9.

According to the organization,  the main reason was the protracted Russian-Ukrainian war and the uncertainty caused by economic sanctions.

According to the analysis, a significant improvement in the economic sentiment would be possible if the war ended, inflation would stabilize within the central bank's target range between 2-4%, the interest rate environment would become even more favorable, and prices on the energy market would lower permanently.
