Revenue from tolls, vignettes climbs about 16%

Revenue from road tolls and motorway vignettes in Hungary rose by about 16% to more than HUF 243 billion last year, toll operator NUSZ said today, according to Hungarian news agency MTI.

HU-GO, Hungaryʼs toll for trucks and lorries, generated revenue of HUF 185 bln. Sales of motorway vignettes came to HUF 57 bln.

Revenue from weekly motorway vignettes accounted for 47.9% of total sales and annual vignettes for 21.8%. About 8.5 million weekly vignettes and 289,000 annual vignettes were sold, both up from 2014.

County motorway vignettes, good for a calendar year, accounted for 12.7% of vignette revenue. Of the 1.3 million county vignettes sold, 810,000 were for Pest county.

NUSZ operates 18 customer services offices in Hungary and it processed 500,000 customer inquiries in 2015.
