U.K.-owned farm company Inicia was reported to be still using 500 hectares of state-owned land near Győr, northeastern Hungary, despite its lease contract having been expired and the land having been awarded to 12 Hungarian farmers in a new contract, Hungarian portal pestisracok.hu said yesterday.

According to the portal, a local notary granted possession protection rights to the company and a legal dispute has been ongoing between Inicia and the other farmers since 2014.

The Hungarian government is planning further legal actions, as Inicia is breaking parts of the land law, Mórton Bitay, state secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture told the news portal.
