Report: Government clears obstacles to EC rural funds
The Hungarian government removed all remaining obstacles that prevented the European Commission from approving Hungary’s national development funding program for the fiscal period of 2014-2020, government-friendly economic daily Napi Gazdaság reported on Saturday.
Now that all professional and technical questions regarding the program have been cleared up, tenders for funding are being prepared and the first invitations are expected to be called in the fall, the Prime Minister’s Office told the paper.
Approximately HUF 1.3 trillion is available for rural development during the 2014-2020 funding period, according to the paper. The report added that job creation and preservation are among the chief goals of the program.
