Report: EKAER used 6 million times since launch
Hungary’s Electronic Public Road Trade Control System (EKAER), which was launched on January 1 to monitor deliveries by road haulage companies, has been used more than 6 million times since its introduction, Hungarian online economic daily vg.hu reported, citing data from the National Tax and Customs Authority (NAV).
Domestic deliveries accounted for 3.7 million of the applications, the paper said. According to Hungarian news agency MTI, more than 45,000 companies are registered to use the system, which was introduced as part of the governmentʼs crackdown on tax evaders.
