OTP Bank analysts project Hungary's economy will grow 1% in 2013, deputy-CEO László Wolf said on Friday. The projection compares to an official government forecast for 0.9% GDP growth. OTP Bank's analysts expect the general government deficit to remain under the 3% of GDP threshold this year, Wolf said. The government targets a 2.7% of GDP deficit for 2013. Hungary's balance is “excellent,” but the investment rate as a proportion of GDP is “alarmingly low,” Wolf said.

Producing journalism that is worthy of the name is a costly business. For 27 years, the publishers, editors and reporters of the Budapest Business Journal have striven to bring you business news that works, information that you can trust, that is factual, accurate and presented without fear or favor.
