Nielsen: Hungary’s retail food sales up 5% in Q1
Retail food sales in Hungary were up 4.6% in the first quarter, as compared to the same period a year earlier, market researcher Nielsen reported on Friday, according to Hungarian News Agency MTI.
Among the 21 European countries surveyed by Nielsen, Hungary had the third-highest increase, after Turkey and Poland, the report said.
Sales volume in the sector was up 1.3 % compared to the first quarter of last year, according to Nielsen.
The volume of retail sales in Hungary rose 5.5% in March as compared to the same month a year earlier, according to raw data published by Hungary’s Central Statistical Office (KSH) on May 25.
