New instances of bluetongue discovered in Hungary
Hungaryʼs farm ministry on announced yesterday that it had been alerted to a new outbreak of bluetongue, a viral disease of ruminants, but said that the same observation and defense zones delineated last year would remain in place, Hungarian news agency MTI reported.
Food safety authority NÉBIH found bluetongue in two animals from a herd of 350 cattle in Tolna County, southwestern Hungary.
Restrictions related to an outbreak of bluetongue were introduced across approximately two-thirds of Hungary last year.
