New cases of bluetongue found in Hungarian cattle
Hungaryʼs food safety authority NÉBIH said yesterday that it had found further cases of cattle infected with bluetongue in Baranya, Somogy and Tolna counties in southwestern Hungary, and it had modified its observation and defense zones.
NÉBIH announced a new outbreak of bluetongue, a viral disease of ruminants, in early September. Restrictions related to an outbreak of bluetongue were introduced in about two-thirds of Hungary last year.
