NAV to check restaurants
Tax and customs authority of Hungary (NAV) is launching a comprehensive check of Budapest-located restaurants in order to put an end to abuses and fraudulent activities, and also to force restaurants to provide their clients with proper receipts, the authority announced yesterday.
The announcement added that many tourist frequented restaurants present receipts similar to proper invoices, though containing misleading information and evades tax payments. NAV pinpointed that the investigation will not involve restaurants streaming information via the online cash register system.
