MNB international reserves rise €951 mln in January
The National Bank of Hungaryʼs (MNB) international reserves stood at €31.273 billion at the end of January, up €951 million from the end of the previous month, preliminary data released today show, according to Hungarian news agency MTI.
The reserves were down €7 bln from a year earlier.
There were no major foreign issues or expiries in January.
Of the main components of the reserves, monetary gold reserves rose slightly to €101 mln, the reserve position at the International Monetary Fund remained unchanged at €94 mln, FX cash deposits and securities fell by €320 mln to €29.6 bln while other reserves jumped by almost €1.3 bln to €1.4 bln.
The January increase followed a €2.8 bln drop in December.
