MÁV-Start calls tender for IC+ chassis

MÁV-Start has called a tender for the delivery of chassis and brake systems for InterCity carriages it developed for international markets, the passenger unit of state-owned railway company MÁV said on Saturday, according to Hungarian news agency MTI.

MÁV is expected to start making 20 of the IC+ carriages, licensed to travel at speeds of 200km/h on international rail lines, from early next year. 

The company will make a further 100 of the carriages for domestic use, capable of traveling at speeds up to 160km/h, according to government resolution, MÁV-Start said.

The deadline for signalling interest to participate in the tender for the chassis is May 5.
