MABISZ: Insurers’ premiums revenue up 2%

Hungarian insurers revenues from premiums saw a year-on-year rise of 2%, reaching HUF 657 billion, in the first three quarters, the Hungarian Insurers Association (MABISZ) said today in an announcement.

Data from MABISZ shows that revenue from life insurance premiums dropped by 1.9% to HUF 329.4 bln while premiums on general insurance policies were up 6.3% to HUF 327.8 bln.

Although there is currently a trend of falling revenue in the life insurance sector, the number of long term and continuous investment contracts has increased in the past year.

The increase in all fields other than life insurance was primarily due to an increase in the number of registered vehicles in the country – through both new and used car sales.
