KSH: Jobless rate falls to 7.4%

Hungary's unemployment rate between July and September 2014 was 7.4%, a decrease of 2.4% compared to the same period last year, according to figures released by the Hungarian Central Statistics (KSH) office today.

The unemployment rate of people aged 25–74 decreased by 2.6% to 7.1%.

The unemployment rate for persons aged 15-24 was 21.3%, which is 6.1% lower than a year ago. This group represents 21.4% of unemployed people in Hungary. 

About half (50.2%) of all unemployed people have been searching for a job for one year or more. The average duration of unemployment was 19.5 months.
