KSH: Hungary’s trade surplus up €527 mln in April

Hungaryʼs trade surplus rose by €527 million, reaching €959 mln in April, compared to the same month a year earlier, Hungary’s Central Statistical Office (KSH) said today in a first estimate. Exports grew by 5.1%, while imports dropped by 1.9% in April, in euro terms.

In total, exports amounted to €8 billion and imports to €7.1 bln, data from KSH show. The share of European Union Member States was 80% in exports and 79% in imports, KSH said. 

In the first four months of the year, the value of exports and imports rose by 2.5% and 1.2%, respectively, in euro terms. The value of exports was €30.6 bln, and that of imports €27.2 bln. The trade surplus came to €3.4 bln.

As compared to the first quarter of the previous year, exports and imports were up 2.5% and 1.2%, respectively, in euro terms. The trade surplus increased by €406 mln.
