KSH: Hungary’s PPI down 1.7% in January

The Industrial Producer Prices Index (PPI) in Hungary saw a drop of 1.7% on average in January as compared to the same period a year earlier, chiefly due to price drops in both directions of sales, Hungary’s Central Statistical Office (KSH) said today.
Domestic sales prices were down 3% and export sales prices by 1.1% in the month as compared to the preceding year, KSH said.
Manufacturing prices were down 2.1% and prices in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply, representing significant weight, by 4.8%, KSH added.
Data by KSH shows that energy and intermediate producer branch prices were down 4.5%, while prices rose 1.5% in capital and by 0.6% in consumer goods producer branches.
Industrial export sales prices were cut by 1.1%, manufacturing prices by 0.9% and prices in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply by 5.5%, KSH reported.
