KSH: Hungary’s industrial producer prices down 1.4%

Hungary’s industrial producer prices dropped by 1.4% on average in April, as compared to the same month a year earlier, with domestic sales prices falling 4.7% and export sales prices rising 0.2%, Hungary’s Central Statistical Office KSH said today.

In the first four months of the year, domestic sales prices were cut by 4.4% and export sales prices by 0.2%, making industrial producer prices as a whole 1.6% lower compared to the same period a year earlier.  

Data by KSH show that in April, industrial domestic sales prices were down 4.7%, within which manufacturing prices dropped 4.8%, and prices in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply, representing significant weight, dropped 5.6% as compared to a year earlier.

According to KSH, prices fell by 7.0% in energy and intermediate producer branches, mostly as an effect of price drops in energy producer branches, and were up 2.7% in capital goods producer branches and remained unchanged in consumer goods producer branches.

Industrial export sales prices rose 0.2%, within which manufacturing prices were up 0.7% and prices in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply dropped by 10.4%, KSH said.
