KSH: Gross wages up 2.9% to HUF 234,600

Average gross earnings from January to August 2014 rose to HUF 234,600 per month. This represents a 2.9% increase year-on-year for that period, the latest publication of the Central Statistics Office (KSH) revealed today.

KSH reported full-time employees’ average gross nominal earnings at HUF 234,600 per month; within this, the average full-time business employee earned HUF 249,600 per month. Average gross earnings of fostered workers were HUF 78,000 a month.

At the top of the ranking in terms of average monthly wage were financial and insurance activities (HUF 489,300), followed by information and communication (HUF 451,800) and utility supply (HUF 413,400). At the end of the ranking were human health and social work activities (HUF 142,400), accommodation and food service activities (HUF 153,100) and agriculture, forestry and fishing (HUF 172,200).
