KSH: Agricultural producer prices down 3.8% in August

Hungary’s agricultural producer prices saw a year-on-year drop of 3.8% in August, with the prices of crop products rising by 0.9% while those of live animals and animal products fell by 11.1%, Hungary’s Central Statistical Office said today.

KSH data reveals that the price of cereals fell by 7.4%, the price of fresh vegetables increased by 7.8%, that of potatoes by 3.9% and the price of fresh fruits by 17%. KSH added that the producer price level of live animals was 8.6% and that of animal products 17% lower.

In the period of January-August, agricultural producer prices were down by a year-on-year 5.6%, with the price of crop products falling by 3.3% and that of live animals and animal products falling by 9.2%, KSH said.

The producer price of milk fell by 21%, KSH said, adding that its procurement price was HUF 91 per liter in January, compared with HUF 76 per liter in August, which was also the case in July.
