Industrial producer prices drop 2.6% in September

Industrial producer prices in Hungary dropped by 2.6% on average in September, compared to the same month a year earlier, with domestic sales prices dropping by 1% in manufacturing and by 7.1% in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, said Hungary’s Central Statistical Office (KSH). Industrial export sales prices were cut by 2.5%.

Industrial domestic sales prices decreased by 2.8% in September, as compared to the previous year. Prices dropped 4.4% in energy and intermediate producer branches, the KSH said, while prices rose by 0.5% in capital goods producing and by 1.1% in consumer goods producing branches. 

In the January-September period, as compared to the corresponding period of 2015, domestic sales prices were cut by 4.0% and export sales prices by 1.1%, meaning that industrial producer prices as a whole were 2.1% lower, the KSH reported.
