Hungary’s trade surplus grows to EUR 891 mln in Oct

Hungary’s trade surplus was up by EUR 167 million in October, compared to the same period in 2015, amounting to EUR 891 mln, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said today in a first release of data.

In euro terms, exports decreased by 1.1% and imports by 3.5% in October, as compared to the same month a year earlier. The value of exports amounted to EUR 8.1 billion and that of imports to EUR 7.2 bln.

In the first ten months of the year, the euro value of exports and imports rose by 2.4% and 0.7%, respectively, compared to the same ten months of last year. The value of exports in the period was EUR 77.4 bln and that of imports equaled EUR 68.9 bln. The trade surplus grew by EUR 1.4 bln to EUR 8.5 bln, according to data by KSH.
