Hungarian state-owned electricity provider MVM yesterday opened an office in Moscow, to help it maintain closer ties with the Russian government and business leaders, as well as make better use of shared business opportunities, MVM said, Hungarian news agency MTI reported today.

“We trust that the Moscow office will make a big contribution to the further strengthening of the economic and energy ties between Russia and Hungary, in line with the [governmentʼs] policy of opening up to markets in the East,” MTI quoted MVM chairman-CEO Péter Csiba

The company noted that the opening of the office is in line with MVM’s recently unveiled mid-term strategy, prioritizing the entrance to new markets and also the strengthening of the companyʼs role in the region. The company is preparing to open offices in Brussels and Bratislava in the coming months, according to MTI.
