HIPA launches investment program for rural settlements
Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) is launching an investor friendly investment program for Hungaryʼs rural settlements as of October, to prepare them for potential investments, HIPA announced today at a press conference.
In the framework of the program, representatives of rural settlements will be able to enroll for free in training offered by HIPA. Through this program, HIPA hopes to improve the skills of representatives in both theory and practice, to prepare them for potential investors, including those arriving from abroad.
HIPA saw a need to establish this training program given that international investors handled by the agency have shown a growing interest in regions outside of Budapest, President of HIPA Róbert Ésik noted at the conference. He added that HIPA attracted 27 investments to Hungary in the first five months of this year, with total investments amounting to €548.82 mln.
The training program is based on three education modules as well as an examination module, and takes three months to complete. Program lectures are scheduled every month. Main topics include encouraging investments, settlement marketing and successful communication, alongside hands on experience and advice from HIPA.
Following the training, participantsʼ knowledge will be assessed by having them put together an application for a tender. These applications will first be evaluated by professionals, before being presented to a delegation of foreign diplomats visiting the settlements. The winning applicants will have the opportunity to put their knowledge into practice. The program comes to a close with an award ceremony at the beginning of 2016.
Apart from gaining both theoretical and practical knowledge, settlement representatives enrolling in the program will receive the logo of the program and the title, which can be used in all communication produced by the settlement.
HIPA is currently accepting applications for the training program until September 30. Further information can be found on the HIPA webpage.
