The government's plan to tax “other chemical products” in 2015 means that Hungarians might face price increases on soap, shampoo, washing powder, cosmetics, deodorants, air fresheners and even artificial flowers, Hungarian online daily Világgazdaság reported today.

The prices of soaps and washing powders would increase HUF 11 per kilogram, cosmetics and beauty products would grow by HUF 57 per kilogram and office paper would increase by HUF 19 per kilogram, according to the report. The price of artificial flowers would grow by HUF 1,900 per kilogram, which could result in their disappearance from the market, according to the paper.
