Government to allocate ‘limitless’ money for ‘migration crisis’
The Hungarian government is planning to propose and amendment to the central budget to establish an allocation with no limit, in order to prepare for “unforeseen expenditures” related to the “migrant crisis”, Péter Benő Bánai, state secretary in charge of fiscal affairs, said late yesterday on Hungarian state-owned all news TV station M1.
According to the secretary, the allocation would be for expenditures over the HUF 60 bln that the Hungarian government already allocated for spending on the crisis. Benő Bánai added that “higher revenue would cover the new budget allocation; however, if that revenue is insufficient, the amendment would allow for a slight increase in the deficit”, according to Hungarian news agency MTI.
