MNB Int'l Reserves Rise EUR 48 mln in September

International reserves of the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) stood at EUR 39.662 billion at the end of September, up EUR 48 mln from a month earlier, data published by the central bank on Friday show.

The stock of cash, deposits, and securities in the reserves edged down EUR 34 mln to EUR 28.072 bln, while stock of "other reserve instruments" climbed EUR 118 mln to EUR 3.572 bln. 

Hungary issued a EUR 1.75 bln, 10-year eurobond early in September. The Government Debt Management Agency (ÁKK) said proceeds from the issue would be used for pre-financing and general financing purposes.

There was EUR 5.36 bln of monetary gold in the reserves and EUR 2.286 bln of IMF SDRs at the end of September.

The reserves were EUR 953 mln over their level at the end of 2022.
