Companies Deposit Net HUF 581 bln at Local Banks

Non-financial companies deposited net HUF 581 billion at local banks in December, state news wire MTI reports citing monthly data released by the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) on Thursday.

Corporate deposit stock reached HUF 16.042 tln at the end of the month.

Companies borrowed net HUF 139 bln from local lenders, lifting corporate loan stock, including corporate bonds, to HUF 13.807 tln.

The average interest rate on forint business loans stood at 12.81% in December, down from 13% in November and 14.83% in December 2022.
