Hungary’s Central Statistical Office (KSH) operates independently and impartially and is committed to objectivity, KSH president Gabriella Vukovich said yesterday after the office passed its European audit with high marks, according to Hungarian news agency MTI. Auditors made recommendations for the service to become more user friendly.

The chief said that a three-member team arriving from the European Commission audited the operations of the statistics office a year ago and found that the operations of KSH meet the requirements of the European Statistical System, according to MTI. The office is ready to employ European standards in its work, auditors said.

However, the team of auditors also made 17 recommendations, calling for a more user-oriented approach, among other improvements, according to MTI.
