Daily bourse turnover up in January

Average daily share turnover of the Budapest Stock Exchange reached HUF 10.9 billion in January, up 64.4% from the same month a year earlier, the bourse said today, according to Hungarian news agency MTI.

Average daily share turnover rose 48.4% from the previous month.

Spot market turnover came to HUF 228 bln for the month. Share transactions accounted for more than HUF 218 bln of the total.

Turnover of derivatives reached HUF 219 bln in January, up 0.4% from the previous month. Turnover in forex futures fell 2.4%.

Concorde Securities brokered the most share deals in January: HUF 103.6 bln or 23.8% of the total. WOOD and Company was runner-up, brokering 18.2% of transactions. Erste Investment was in third place with a market share of 16.1%.
