Consumer confidence at six-year high, says Nielsen

Consumer confidence rose in the third quarter to its strongest level in six years, a gauge by market researcher Nielsen shows today, according to Hungarian news agency MTI.

Nielsenʼs consumer confidence index rose 7 points to 64 from the previous quarter, Nielsen said. The index thus reached its highest level since 2010. 

The percentage of Hungarians who said the outlook for their own financial position has improved rose to 24% in Q3, up from less than 19% in Q2.

The percentage that communicated a propensity to make purchases rose from 17% to 23% quarter-to-quarter.

About 19% said the outlook for employment was good, up four percentage points.
