Coding competition to open for girls
Skool, an independent Hungarian organization, the University of ELTE and Facebook are jointly organizing a coding competition, entitled Scratchmeccs, for young ladies between the ages of 12-16.
The organizers await the application of groups of three who are open-minded, adventurous and eager to realize their ideas. Winners will have the opportunity to fly to London and visit Facebook’s offices there.

“Our mission is to trigger positive developments in Hungarian society by means of our activities. We are building a community which supports the professional career and success of girls and young women in the world of technology while assisting in reaching gender parity in this sector. In addition to this, Skool would also like to contribute to widening the scope of corporate social responsibility actions of Hungarian IT companies by providing them with these programs. We believe that increasing the number of female employees and entrepreneurs in the technological sector will result in a richer and more diverse ecosystem,” organization Skool states on its website.
