CIB Bank analysts project Hungaryʼs GDP growth will accelerate to 2.7% next year from 2.1% in 2016, but still remain under the governmentʼs respective targets, the lender said in a quarterly outlook yesterday, according to Hungarian news agency MTI.

Hungaryʼs government puts GDP growth at 2.5% this year and 3.1% next year.

Hungaryʼs GDP grew by 2.0% in Q1-Q3, the latest data from the Central Statistical Office (KSH) show.

Growth will accelerate next year as domestic demand expands and payouts of European Union funding increase, CIB said.

CIB projects annual average inflation of 0.4% in 2016, and 2.2% in 2017.
