The Budapest Stock Exchangeʼs main BUX index finished up 1.40% at 22,888.51 on Wednesday after losing 2.97% on Tuesday.
All blue chips except Magyar Telekom closed higher after the index moved in positive territory throughout the session.
OTP Bank gained 1.56% to HUF 5,865 on turnover of HUF 2.8 bln from a HUF 7.63 bln session total.
Oil and gas company MOL advanced 0.40% to HUF 13,765 on turnover of HUF 0.6 bln.
Drugmaker Richter rose 3.19% to HUF 5,043 on turnover of HUF 3.8 bln after dropping almost 7% in the previous session following disappointing guidance.
Magyar Telekom lost 0.26% to HUF 390 on turnover of HUF 0.32 bln.
The bourseʼs mid-cap BUMIX finished 0.28% lower at 1,631.60.
Elsewhere in the region, Pragueʼs PX index rose 1.26%.
Western Europeʼs major indices were up ahead of the end of trading. The FTSE100 in London gained 0.74%, the DAX30 in Frankfurt was up 1.80% and the CAC40 in Paris rose 1.92%.
