BUX edges up with support from MOL

The Budapest Stock Exchangeʼs main BUX index finished up 0.34% at 23,637.22 Friday after gaining 0.69% on Thursday.

The BUX index was mostly steady on Friday. Following an early rise in the first 30 minutes of trade, share prices were little changed until the start of the afternoon when they slightly rose. In the last two hours of trading there was a small market correction, reducing daily gains.

OTP gained 0.02% to HUF 6,110 on turnover of HUF 4.39 bln from a HUF 7.63 bln session total.

MOL was up 2.09% at HUF 13,900 on turnover of HUF 1.27 bln.

Magyar Telekom was unchanged at HUF 394 on turnover of HUF 211 mln.

Richterʼs share price decreased 0.65% to HUF 5,320 on turnover of HUF 1.72 bln.

The bourseʼs mid-cap BUMIX finished 0.24% higher at 1,658.23.

During the week the BUX index lost 1.50%, while total weekly turnover was HUF 41.83 bln. The BUMIX finished the week 0.56% lower.

For the week OTP gained 0.26% on a turnover of HUF 26.69 bln, MOL lost 0.29% with a turnover of HUF 5.26 bln, Magyar Telekom was down 0.51% with a turnover of HUF 1.77 bln and Richter was down 4.98% with a turnover of HUF 7.80 bln.

Elsewhere in the region, the WIG-20 in Warsaw was up 0.12% while Pragueʼs PX index gained 0.81%.

Western Europeʼs major indices were down ahead of the end of trading. The FTSE100 in London lost 0.74%, the DAX30 in Frankfurt was down by 1.21%, and the CAC40 in Paris was down 0.76%.
