BUX edges down

The Budapest Stock Exchangeʼs main BUX index finished down 0.18% at 26,656.81 Thursday, Hungarian news agency MTI reported.

The index started out in positive territory but fell gradually and bottomed out after a sizeable drop before 3 in the afternoon. The index slowly recovered before falling again in the last half hour of trade. 

In Western Europe, London shares lost early gains by afternoon, while stocks in Frankfurt and Paris continued to climb.

OTP lost 0.30% to HUF 7,025 on the last day the share trades with its dividend coupon. Turnover came to HUF 3.9 bln from a HUF 7.0 bln session total.

MOL was down 0.61% at HUF 16,260 on turnover of HUF 1.5 bln.

Magyar Telekom gained 0.44% to HUF 458 on turnover of HUF 0.2 bln.

Richter climbed 0.23% to HUF 5,602 on turnover of HUF 1.3 bln.

The bourseʼs mid-cap BUMIX finished 0.21% lower at 1,766.03.

Elsewhere in the region, Pragueʼs PX index was up 0.11%. Markets were closed for a holiday in Warsaw.

Western Europeʼs major indices were mixed before the end of trade. The FTSE100 in London lost 0.16%, the DAX30 in Frankfurt was up by 0.56%, and the CAC40 in Paris rose 0.56%.
