BUX dragged into red by Richter

The Budapest Stock Exchangeʼs main BUX index finished down 0.73% at 22,846.82 on Wednesday as drugmaker Richter weighed. Richter dropped 3.83% to HUF 4,850 on turnover of HUF 5.5 bln from a HUF 9.9 bln session total.

MKB Bank director Gyula Pleschinger said on public television after the market close that there was no market news that could have impacted Richterʼs share price so dramatically. He told news channel M1 that the fall may have been the result of a single big stakeholder parting with their shares.

OTP Bank gained 0.43% to HUF 5,990 on turnover of HUF 3.2 bln.

Oil and gas company MOL advanced 0.55% to HUF 13,775 on turnover of HUF 0.8 bln.

Richter dropped 3.83% to HUF 4,850 on turnover of HUF 5.5 bln.

Magyar Telekom rose 0.51% to HUF 395 on turnover of HUF 0.4 bln.

The bourseʼs mid-cap BUMIX finished 0.88% lower at 1,641.74.

Elsewhere in the region, the WIG-20 in Warsaw was up 3.59% while Pragueʼs PX index rose 1.88%.

Western Europeʼs major indices were up ahead of the end of trade. The DAX30 in Frankfurt gained 2.57% and the CAC40 in Paris climbed 2.99%. The FTSE100 in London gained 2.71%.
