Budapest bourse turnover up in September

Share turnover on the Budapest Stock Exchange (BSE) reached HUF 166 billion in September, up slightly from HUF 158 bln in August and 14.8% higher than the HUF 144.6 bln recorded in September 2015, shows a monthly report released by the bourse on Monday, according to Hungarian news agency MTI.

Average daily share turnover came to HUF 7.5 bln in September, higher than the daily HUF 6.9 bln average in August and the HUF 6.6 bln average in September a year earlier. 

Wood & Company Financial Services brokered the most share trades in September, at HUF 90 bln or 27.1% of the total, double-counted figures show. Concorde Securities was runner-up with 21.3%, with Erste Investment taking third place with 14.8%.

Among the stocks with the highest turnover on the exchange, only Magyar Telekom saw its share price strengthen in September (3.9%), while other blue chips MOL (-2.1%), OTP (-0.7%) and Richter (-2.2%) all saw theirs decline.
