BNP Paribas labor market stability index slightly up in Q1

The labor market stability index of insurer BNP Paribas Cardif and survey institute Median, which measures how secure employees feel about their workplace and job prospects, was at 64 points in Q1, up by two points compared to the same period last year, the two organizations announced yesterday, according to Hungarian news agency MTI.

Men were slightly more optimistic than women, with the index for men at 64 points and at 63 points for women.

Based on educational qualifications, workers with university degrees were the most optimistic, reaching 69 points followed by high school graduates with 65 points. The stability index among skilled workers was 63 points. The stability index rose in all three categories compared to the end of 2015.

In a sectoral breakdown, the stability index was lowest in the agricultural sector at 52 points and the highest in the retail sector at 66 points.

The labor market stability index at 64 points was 3 points higher compared to the end of last year.
