The number of visitors at the 10th Balaton Sound, an internationally-known festival near Lake Balaton, grew more than 12,000 this year, exceeding 157,000 festival-goers, which is a record in the history of the event, according to a press release issued today.

Organizers say in the press statement that Saturday was completely sold out, while the other days of the 5-day beach party were also nearly full. Visitors arrived to the event from 63 countries, which is also a new record and shows the international potential of the event, according to the organizers.

“Many festivals in the world are organized by water, but there are only a few that actually happen on the water. Balaton Sound had 2,000 square meters of its venues built on the lake, constantly attracting the visitors to feel the Balaton atmosphere from the closest possible range,” the press statement noted.
