The Budapest Stock Exchangeʼs main BUX index finished the session on Friday up 0.92% at 23,997.31, rallying in the last minutes of trade to near its daily maximum.
OTP Bank climbed 2.25% to HUF 6,094. Turnover of the share reached HUF 5.3 bln, or about half of the HUF 10.7 bln session total.
Oil and gas company MOL gained 0.65% to HUF 13,940 on turnover of HUF 1.4 bln.
Drugmaker Richter slipped 0.02% to HUF 5,599 on turnover of HUF 3.7 bln.
Magyar Telekom was up 0.25% at HUF 396 on turnover of HUF 338m.
Elsewhere in the region, Warsawʼs WIG 20 was up 1.42% and the Prague PX advanced 1.28%.
Western Europeʼs biggest indices were all higher late on Friday. Londonʼs FTSE 100 was up 1.72%, Frankfurtʼs DAX climbed 1.10% and the CAC 40 in Paris advanced 1.42%.
Peter Varju of Erste Investment told public televisionʼs news channel M1 that turnover may have been risen because it was the last trading day of the month.
On the week, the BUX climbed 2.74%. OTP gained 4.74%, MOL climbed 2.69%, Richter rose 1.82% and MTel was flat.
