The Hungarian subsidiary of global telco giant Vodafone has launched new Fixed Connectivity services, as an entrance into the corporate fixed-line voice and managed data services market, István Király, director of the Enterprise Business Unit at Vodafone Hungary, announced today, according to a press release.

Entering the market valued at more than HUF 80 billion a year, Vodafone plans to offer corporate customers the full range of corporate communications services at the same time, via a single point of contact, with continuous availability and a professional self-service platform customized to the unique requirements of customers, the press statement noted.

Vodafone will mainly target large companies and would like to achieve at least a 10% share on the HUF 80 bln market in a few years, a move that could raise the companyʼs annual revenue by HUF 6-7 bln within five years, Király said, according to Hungarian news agency MTI.

Due to the new services, Király expects the move to significantly intensify competition on the market, which, in turn, could have a positive impact on the competitiveness of Hungarian corporate customers in the very near future.

“Vodafone is one of the largest players on the corporate managed data services market world-wide. In Hungary, services are based on the nation-wide optical backbone network spanning close to 9,000 kilometers, which supports Vodafone Hungary’s 3G and 4G services. It’s an unconcealed objective of Vodafone to intensify competition on the managed services market, and obtain significant market share in the years to come, to achieve at least 10%,” Király said.

Vodafone has over one million kilometers of optical network world-wide, and offers IP-based VPN services in 79 countries to close to 25 thousand businesses, including numerous global companies that are also present in Hungary, the press statement noted.
