Viber offers free calls for Hungarians for a week

Users of Viber with Hungarian mobile numbers are allowed to make free Viber Out calls to 100 countries from noon today until noon on June 27, Atanas Raykov, CEO of CEE at Viber, announced during his visit to Budapest today.
“Hungary is one of our most active markets in the region,” Raykov said, according to an announcement from the firm. “The Central Eastern European region is important for Viber, and Hungary receives outstanding attention from us as one of the centers of innovation of the area.”
Using an internet connection, Viber Out service allows Viber users to call any phone number at lower rates through the app, even if those numbers have no Viber installed on their devices.
More than 2.7 million Hungarians are said to use the application in the country. They initiated a total of 14 million calls and sent more than 890 million messages in May alone, Viber said. Viber noted that it recently introduced end-to-end encryption, which makes sent messages only readable for the sender and the recipient.
