Veolia to buy heating plant from GDF Suez

French-owned Veolia Energia Magyarország signed an agreement with GDF Suez Magyarország for the purchase of a district heating plant in Százhalombatta, just south of Budapest, from GDF Suez, the two parties announced in a press release today.

According to the press release, the acquisition of the 25MW plant, which was inaugurated about a year ago and supplies heat to 4,200 homes, requires the approval of the competition and energy authorities.

“Our aim is to provide optimal conditions for the operation of heating services in Százhalombatta, taking into consideration the aspects of comfort, safety and energy efficiency,” said Ferenc Fernezelyi, Commercial and Marketing Director at Veolia Energia Magyarország Zrt.
