UPC DTH, in cooperation with SPI International/FilmBox Channels Group, is launching a new application for subscribers, entitled FilmBox Live, in Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, according to a report by Broadband TV News.

The service will be available in the FilmBox Pack of both UPC Direct and freeSAT DTH platforms, allowing subscribers to watch live streaming channels and enjoy the FilmBox VOD library with unlimited access to the FilmBox Live multiscreen on-demand service, Broadband TV News reports.

“The growth in FilmBox Pack subscribers has been in double digits over the past year. We are very excited to extend our existing FilmBox Pack on UPC Direct and freeSAT,” said Berk Uziyel, executive director for SPI International/FilmBox Channels Group, according to the portal.

“We are pleased to extend our offer with the online experience of FilmBox Live to UPC Direct customers in Hungary and freeSAT customers in the Czech Republic and Slovakia,” said Jim Helfgott, VP for marketing and sales at UPC DTH, according to Broadband TV News. “This will further enhance our multiscreen services, providing our customers with more movies and thematic content.”

The service is scheduled to become available on UPC platforms in Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia as of November 23, the portal reports.
