UPC: Cloud-delivered YouTube viewers on the rise

Viewing minutes on Liberty Global-owned UPC Hungary’s cloud-delivered YouTube service have exceeded 1 million per day in the three months since the service was launched, UPC Hungary said.

More than half of UPC customers with HD TV have started using the new service, the operator said, adding that YouTube is most popular application out of more then 20 applications available via the cloud-based service. In average, users spent 45 minutes per session viewing YouTube videos on the platform.

The company said it will continue developments to allow all UPC digital cable TV households to use online content on TV by the end of the year.
